IntegrationsIntegration setup guides

Reddit

Connect Reddit to your Appstrate agents.

Overview

Reddit is a discussion platform. The integration lets agents read subreddits and the connected account's history and, with the matching scopes, submit posts and comments.

Integration: @appstrate/reddit (version 1.0.6), reached through the api_call tool. For how this works, see How integrations work.

Authorized URIs

The sidecar sends the credential only to URLs that match one of these patterns:

  • https://oauth.reddit.com/**

Connect Reddit

An administrator registers an OAuth client once, then members connect their own accounts.

Create an app of type "web app" (Preferences, Apps) (open).

Register the redirect URI as the app's redirect uri: it is APP_URL followed by /api/integrations/callback, also shown in the integration's setup panel.

In Appstrate, open the integration and register the OAuth client (client ID and client secret). See How integrations work.

Use it in an agent

Excerpt of the agent manifest:

{
  "dependencies": {
    "integrations": { "@appstrate/reddit": "^1.0.0" }
  },
  "integrations_configuration": {
    "@appstrate/reddit": {
      "tools": ["api_call"]
    }
  }
}

Example prompt:

Every day, read the top ten posts of r/selfhosted that mention Appstrate and summarize the questions people ask.
